Hotel Penzion Onyx is situated on the edge of Ceský Krumlov old town just 10 minutes walk from the historical centre. We offer a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of this beautiful medieval town.

The owners of the pension are English and Czech so they can provide a unique blend of Czech and English hospitality, with a high standard of room coupled with a breakfast buffet.

We have capacity for 21 people in 3 double rooms, 3 triple rooms, and an apartment for up to 6 people.

Facilities include: all rooms are en-suite with hair dryer, room with disabled facilities, telephones, satellite television, secure parking, pets on request. We are open in Winter!

We can offer either a traditional English Country Inn style bed and breakfast or if you prefer, we can provide full board equal to the best of the small hotels.

Leisure Activities

We can arrange the following activities in advance on request.

Horse riding:
A half-day horse riding, plodding, trekking or galloping depending on your ability. English and German speaking instruction available.

Canoeing/Rafting:
A whole days canoeing/rafting on the Vltava. Your journey can be up to 35 Kilometres. Transport, either to a start point of your choice or from an end point of your choice, is included. There are no hidden extras.

Sailing:
A whole days sailing on a catamaran on lake Lipno. Easy instructions on how to sail these very simple boats is included. Lipno is about 30 minutes away by car. There is also a windsurfing school near Lipno.

Cycling:
A whole days cycle riding in the South Bohemia National park, along the many designated cycle paths in the region.

Fishing:
In the nearby river Vltava, or in the trout farm near Lipno lake.

Hiking:
Take a walk up to the top of Klet, a mountain in Šumava, about 1000 meters high. From our Penzion it is about a 500 meter climb, 2.5 hours each way with an observatory and a pub at the top!

Tennis:
Ceský Krumlov has an international standard tennis center, with indoor and outdoor courts for hire. There is also an outdoor swimming pool at the tennis center.

Swimming:
There is a good standard public pool in Ceský Krumlov. It is also possible to swim in lake Lipno although some people might find this a little chilly.

Snow sports:
Try downhill or cross-country skiing at the Kramolín ski area near lake Lipno. For the young at heart there is also snowboarding. For novices, lessons in all three disciplines can be arranged in advance.

Ice skating:
In the nearby winter stadium or on one of the many local frozen carp ponds.
