Practical information about Prague public transport
Prague boasts a very efficient and extensive network of public. City transport is integrated and the same ticket can be used on buses, trams and metro.January 2008 has seen some sharp fare rises and to the regret of many, a popular 15 day tourist ticket for 280 CZK is now a thing of the past. Nevertheless, the price rise was inevitable if Prague wants to retain its reliable transport network and even the new fares compare favourably with other European cities.
Prague transport is fast and reliable. Metro intervals are between 2-10 minutes, buses and trams between 5-15 minutes during the day. It will get you almost anywhere faster than a car. With frequent traffic jams and parking restrictions over a large area of central Prague, metro will get you to a destination on the outskirts in half the time and with much less hassle.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT
As yet, there is no train or metro link to the airport, but the airport is well served by buses and taxis.BUSES
Buses will take you conveniently to the nearest metro stations, from where you can reach quicky and conveniently most parts of the city. This is a good option if you haven't got too much luggage and young children. Each piece of luggage larger than 25cm x 45cm x 70cm requires a separate transfer ticket. Buses from the airport can get crowded at peak times and can turn a trip with kids into a nightmare. With frequent stops, the journey time adds up. If in doubt, use a transfer service such as CEDAZ or a taxi.
