Lovers of the delicatessen have already found this inconspicuous, yet cosmopolitan meeting place. At No. 9 Valentinská Street, (just a few minutes from the Old Town Square and a few steps from Rudolfinum), Sípek Bistrot offers delicacies originating in France, Italy and Spain. Produce ranges from goose paté to fine vegetable preserves, exotic vinegars or mustards to a myriad of cheeses, salamis, and hams, including prime Pata Negra. Come to taste all before you buy, and flush it down with our offer of a glass of wine. The delicatessen (which remains open until at least 8 p.m.) has recently been complemented by the completion of the stylish restaurant section, specializing mainly in French cuisine. The interior (including the cutlery, cups, plates, lamps, chairs, tables, even the washbowls) is the work of one of the few Czech architects and designers, to have become successful around the world, even once instigating “sípekmania“: Borek Sípek. The master of desire for magic in the midst of ordinary days has created an interior that reflects his grand vision of reality.
